Member Engagement Specialist 

SUPERVISOR: Executive Director, SC Physician Alliance and Member Engagement 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in event management, hospitality, communications, business administration, or related field preferred  
  • Three to five years of professional experience in event planning, member engagement, or association management  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, virtual meeting platforms, survey tools, and form builder programs  
  • Demonstrated ability to work across multiple database environments, managing member information with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail 
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, and problem-solving skills  
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills  

BASIC FUNCTION: 

The Member Engagement Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing priority SCHA, SC Physician Alliance, and Professional Membership Group events while supporting member engagement efforts. 

This role manages event logistics, maintains accurate member data in iMIS, builds events in Cvent, and supports the Executive Director with physician engagement, member communication, and leadership initiatives. 

DUTIES: 

  • Coordinate all logistical aspects of events including registration, venues, catering, signage, event reminders, and post-event surveys  
  • Build, manage, and maintain event registration sites, communications, and attendee tracking through Cvent  
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of professionalism     
  • Work with internal teams to determine event agendas, themes, and target audiences  
  • Manage event timelines, budgets, and checklists  
  • Secure venues, vendors, speakers, catering, and audiovisual needs  
  • Serve as the main point of contact for vendors and venues  
  • Develop event materials including signage, name badges, programs, and reminders  
  • Handle attendee registration, communications, and inquiries  
  • Provide on-site support during events to manage logistics and troubleshoot issues  
  • Evaluate event success and prepare post-event reports with recommendations for improvement  
  • Update and maintain accurate member information, contacts, distribution lists, and accounts in iMIS  
  • Support the Executive Director in maintaining physician leadership lists, council rosters, and SCPA member records  
  • Assist with communication and outreach to the broader SCPA membership, including council updates, meeting follow-up, leadership development initiatives, and engagement opportunities  
  • Develop surveys, forms, and member communication tools as needed  
  • Support physician council meetings, leadership summits, and member engagement initiatives across SCPA  
  • Other duties as assigned 

SPAN OF SUPERVISION: None 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: In-person SCHA meetings and minimal travel, primarily within the Carolinas.
