Social Media Policy

Thank you for engaging with South Carolina Hospital Association (SCHA) on our social media and digital communication channels (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.). SCHA participates in social media and digital communications to engage individuals and organizations in leading healthier lives. While we encourage fans and followers to share thoughts and opinions on our social media and digital communication channels, we expect that this will be done in a respectful manner.

Think of the South Carolina Hospital Association’s social and digital communications as an open-ended conversation. It’s a place where you can read about what we’re doing, what is happening in the industry and how it is affecting South Carolina hospitals. If you have something to say about what we’re writing or just want to add your own opinion, we encourage you to do so.

SCHA does not agree with or endorse every comment that individuals post on our pages. Our goal is to share ideas and information with as many individuals as possible and our policy is to accept the majority of comments made to our profile.

Comments will be deleted if they contain:

  • Hate speech
  • Profanity, obscenity or vulgarity
  • Nudity in profile pictures
  • Defamation to a person or people
  • Name-calling and/or personal attacks
  • Comments whose main purpose are to sell a product
  • Comments that infringe on copyrights
  • Spam comments, such as the same comment posted repeatedly on a profile
  • Identifying patient information
  • Other comments that the SCHA Digital Team deems off-topic or otherwise inappropriate

All comments made on the SCHA’s social and digital communication channels are the responsibility of the commenter, not the blog owner, administrator, contributor, editor or author. By submitting a comment on our blog you agree that the comment content is your own, and to hold our organization, South Carolina Hospital Association, and all subsidiaries and representatives harmless from any and all repercussions, damages or liability.

Posted comments and images do not necessarily represent the views of SCHA. External, non-SCHA links on any of our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) do not constitute official endorsement on behalf of SCHA. Therefore, all external links posted as comments on SCHA social media posts will be reviewed and may be deleted.

Repeated violations of the SCHA social media and digital communication commenting policy may cause the author to be blocked from our social media and digital communication channels. We understand that social media and digital communication is a 24/7 medium; however, our moderation capabilities are not. We may not see every inappropriate comment right away, and we are trusting in the maturity of our community to ignore personal attacks and negative speech or respond politely.
