Working Well Launches New Dimension on Professional Fulfillment
As part of a comprehensive, integrated, multi-layered approach to reduce burnout and improve worker wellbeing, Working Well has recently launched some exciting enhancements to its interactive online platform, Strategy for Wellbeing, to address professional fulfillment. The already high rates of burnout have skyrocketed even more with the onset of COVID-19, especially among the healthcare workforce. A focus on enhancing professional fulfillment could not come at a more opportune time.
To assist both healthcare and non-healthcare organizations in this effort, Working Well’s Strategy for Wellbeing online platform now includes a “ghost dimension” on Professional Fulfillment to address worker burnout, job satisfaction, resiliency and more. It includes a total of 25 assessment questions within the existing ten dimensions that are scored for Professional Fulfillment. While Professional Fulfillment will not appear as a separate dimension within the assessment, organizations will receive a separate score, tailored recommendations, and resources for Professional Fulfillment. Furthermore, the resources provided are sector-specific. While the problem of burnout is not unique to healthcare, many of the proven solutions are unique to each specific industry.
The assessment questions, recommendations, and resources are based on the Stanford Medicine WellMD Professional Fulfillment model which addresses each of the following domains:
- Culture of wellness: shared values, behaviors, and leadership qualities that prioritize personal and professional growth, community, and compassion for self and others.
- Efficiency of practice: workplace systems, processes, and practices that promote safety, quality, effectiveness, positive patient/customer and colleague interactions, and work-life balance.
- Personal resilience: individual skills, behaviors, and attitudes that contribute to physical, emotional, and professional well-being.
