Marlene Long

Marlene Soares Long is an accomplished Accounting & Financial Operations Specialist with over 10 years of experience in banking, accounting, and financial operations. Her expertise includes Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll administration, financial reporting, month-end processes, and audit support.

Marlene currently provides accounting support for the South Carolina Hospital Association (SCHA), the SCHA Foundation, and Solvent Networks, working across both nonprofit and for-profit organizations. She is experienced with financial and ERP systems including Sage Intacct, Ramp, and JD Edwards, and is committed to maintaining financial accuracy, improving processes, and providing exceptional internal and external customer service.

In addition to her accounting expertise, Marlene has a background in Human Resources as a Workforce Planning Specialist, where she supported recruitment, workforce planning, employee coordination, and international travel logistics in a multinational environment. Her diverse professional experience allows her to bring both financial and people-focused perspectives to the workplace.

Marlene holds a Bachelor of Arts in Women’s Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Florida International University, as well as an Associate of Arts in Law from Miami Dade College. She is also Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) certified.

Beyond her professional career, Marlene is an author. She published the first book in her planned children’s book series, The Rasta King: The Early Years, available on Kindle.
