John Williams

John Williams serves as Executive Director of Safety and Preparedness at the South Carolina Hospital Association, where he leads statewide initiatives focused on healthcare safety, emergency preparedness, regulatory readiness, and workplace violence prevention. In this role, he works with hospitals and state and federal partners to strengthen preparedness, resilience, and response capabilities across South Carolina’s healthcare system.

Williams joined SCHA in 2018 from Prisma Health (formerly Palmetto Health) and brings more than 20 years of experience in emergency preparedness, life safety, hazardous materials management, and healthcare operations. He is a trusted advisor to member hospitals, providing guidance on emergency management, accreditation readiness, and regulatory compliance.

Williams holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety and Health and Environmental Engineering, along with a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership and Healthcare Management from Waldorf University. He is a Certified Healthcare Safety Professional and Certified Emergency Safety Professional.
