On the Move: SCHA Staff Updates

Like our hospitals, SCHA spent much of 2020 focusing on how we can maximize staff to meet the evolving needs of our member community. As we continue to serve as the primary voice and advocate for South Carolina’s hospitals and health systems, we are always working to align our services based on the issues that are impacting you in the field. Here’s a quick update on some of the staff changes we’ve implemented for 2021.

Since joining SCHA in 2017, Christian Soura has brought a wealth of knowledge and experience from his various roles working for governors and leading the state’s Medicaid agency. His understanding of healthcare policy and the political process has benefited us significantly during the pandemic and will continue to be an asset as he transitions to Executive Vice President and head of SCHA’s Advocacy Team. Krista Hinson takes on more leadership responsibilities as Vice President of Government Relations, and Allan Stalvey will continue to play a key role as a Senior Advisor and lobbyist at the State House.

SCHA is also stepping up our member engagement efforts in 2021 with a familiar face, Lara Hewitt. Lara spent more than two years helping relaunch our Solvent Networks business solutions division, and now we’ve called her home to lead member services again. She will continue to oversee SCHA’s efforts on workforce development with the support of Beth Morgan in clinical affairs and Morgan Bowne working directly with members. With this change, Schipp Ames continues to lead SCHA’s marketing and communications work, and we’ve given him HAPAC to help amplify our voice with policymakers.

In our continued quest to innovate and share best practices, Karen Reynolds will serve as Executive Director of Innovation, working directly with The Duke Endowment to advance new approaches for providing highly reliable care in South Carolina. Diana Zona will continue to develop strategies to advance our work to improve health and health outcomes as Executive Director of the SCHA Foundation.

We are excited for the year ahead as we continue to optimize the talents of our people to provide best-in-class service to South Carolina’s hospitals and health systems. If you need anything, just reach out to a member of the SCHA team.
