Five South Carolina Engineers Pass Certified Healthcare Facility Manager Exam

October 25, 2019

Andrew Nord (Lexington Medical Center), Matt Treadway (Prisma Health Oconee Memorial Hospital), Matt Griner (Prisma Health Baptist), Ronnie Glass (Prisma Health Baptist) and Caso Suarez (Prisma Health Baptist) all recently passed the Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) exam, a test administered by the American Hospital Association which serves as a national recognition of their knowledge in the operations and maintenance of building systems specific to the healthcare field.

The five engineers, all members of the SC Society for Hospital Engineers (SCSHE), answered questions across five broad domains: compliance; planning, design, and construction; maintenance and operations; finance; and administration. Designed to help facilities across the nation hire and retain the most knowledgeable staff in the field, earning a CHFM ensures professional competency across the breadth of what a healthcare facility manager can be extended to administer.

By earning the CHFM, these managers demonstrate that they have the knowledge and ability to perform at a high standard for their health system,” says Rob Moore, CHFM and President of SCSHE. “We’re proud of our members that pursue these kinds of certifications that contribute to patient safety and creating more highly reliable healthcare facilities.”
