Conway Medical Center Staff Member Completes DEI Certificate Program

September 7, 2022

September 7, 2022, Conway, S.C. – Jessica Armenta, Language Services Coordinator for Conway Medical Center, recently completed the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace certificate program offered through University of South Florida’s Muma College of Business. The DEI program is designed to serve the needs of organizations eager to better build and sustain diversity and a culture of inclusion among the workforce through effective communication and collaboration.

“As Conway Medical Center continues to expand our healthcare service lines and our footprint geographically, it’s extremely important to grow and diversify our workforce,” says Jessica Armenta, CMC’s Language Services Coordinator. “Through recruitment of different races, religions, ages, genders, sexual orientations, and disabilities, CMC offers greater depth in perspective and viewpoints, which directly leads to better service and more meaningful relationships with our patients and customer base. I’m very excited about the opportunities to share with our staff what I’ve learned and gained from this program.” The seven-week DEI in the Workplace program includes modules on emotional intelligence, empathy, understanding stereotypes and biases, current organizational diversity and inclusion progress, action plans to drive diversity and inclusion, recruitment and retention, community outreach, as well as how to design a sustainable business model.
