Mom’s IMPACTT
Mom’s IMPACTT (IMProving Access to Maternal Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Care Through Telemedicine and Tele‑Mentoring) is a statewide initiative by MUSC Health designed to expand timely, specialized support for pregnant and postpartum individuals. Built around a robust telehealth model, the program ensures that high‑quality perinatal mental health and substance use care is accessible no matter where someone lives in South Carolina.
Through a centralized phone line, callers are connected with a Care Coordinator who conducts a brief assessment and links them to services delivered both in person and through secure telehealth visits. This includes rapid access to perinatal psychiatric consultation, behavioral health treatment, and ongoing telemonitoring that helps track symptoms, guide follow‑up, and keep patients connected to care throughout the perinatal period.
Mom’s IMPACTT also strengthens the statewide provider network by offering real‑time teleconsultation, virtual training, and tele‑mentoring for clinicians seeking support in managing perinatal behavioral health concerns. By combining telemedicine, telemonitoring, and coordinated care navigation, the program reduces barriers to treatment and improves outcomes for parents and babies across South Carolina.
