Workplace Violence Simulation Workshop (Midlands)
The Workplace Violence Simulation Workshop is an immersive, hands-on learning opportunity designed to support healthcare organizations in strengthening workplace violence preparedness efforts.
Because people learn best when training reflects situations they may realistically encounter, this workshop uses simulations informed by workplace violence events that have occurred in South Carolina healthcare settings. Participants will engage in realistic, actor-based learning experiences designed to provide practical approaches that organizations may choose to incorporate into existing workplace violence prevention and staff education programs.
Participants Will Explore:
- Practical de-escalation techniques and communication strategies to help staff recognize, respond to, and safely navigate escalating situations.
- How to facilitate realistic, actor-based workplace violence scenarios that allow teams to practice skills in a safe, immersive learning environment.
- Effective post-event debriefing methods that focus on learning, team support, and opportunities for systems improvement rather than blame.
- How to turn real workplace violence events from your organization into simulation scenarios for staff training, helping your team learn from past events and prepare for situations they may encounter in the future.
- Practical strategies for integrating simulation-based learning into your existing staff education and workplace violence preparedness efforts, helping reinforce learning and strengthen readiness over time.
