SCHHRA Virtual Forum
Our feature presentation is “Classroom to Career: Strengthening the Healthcare Workforce Pipeline Through Student Engagement,” which highlights Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System’s comprehensive strategy to address current and future healthcare workforce shortages.
Partnerships with schools, career centers, colleges, and community organizations create opportunities for students to explore healthcare careers through career fairs, classroom visits, shadowing, simulation experiences, summer camps, internships, and work-based learning programs. Outcomes include over 10,000 students reached through awareness efforts, nearly 600 students participating in on-site experiences, an 80% hire rate from the Work-Based Learning CNA program, and significant growth in summer internship participation. Early exposure and meaningful engagement are critical to building a sustainable healthcare workforce pipeline for the future.
SCHA will also provide a legislative update on strategic issues in healthcare, the changes ahead, and how they’re impacting the field. View the full agenda here.
