Adult Mental Health First Aid Certification

As part of our comprehensive effort to improve the healthcare workforce experience, SCHA’s WHY initiative is offering an Adult Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) certification training to SCHA members and agency partners.

Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based training course that teaches participants how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults. The training is designed to help create pathways that support resilience and wellbeing, reduce stigma and discrimination, and strengthen psychological safety.  More than half of Americans will be diagnosed with a mental health or substance use challenge in their life. Be ready to offer support with this evidence-based, nationally recognized training.

This training will be held in-person at the South Carolina Hospital Association, Palmetto Room, on Thursday, Sep. 24, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. The cost is $30 per participant. Lunch and break refreshments will be provided. Two hours of pre-work are required for each registrant. Enrollment is limited, and the deadline for registration is Sep. 17.
