Program Director, Statewide Employee Retention & Wellbeing Initiative

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Public Health, Human Resources, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in employee engagement, human resources, workplace or corporate wellbeing, workforce development, operations, or similar roles.

Demonstrated experience leading complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.

Experience in project management, grant administration, or change management.

Excellent communication skills (presentations, verbal, writing).

Knowledge of hospital operations, health administration, or healthcare workforce development.
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Project Director will lead a statewide initiative focused on improving employee retention and workplace wellbeing across hospitals. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing grant-funded activities, engaging hospital partners, coordinating advisory groups, and ensuring all project components align with evidence-based principles of employee wellbeing. The Director will serve as a key convener, strategist, and operational leader to support hospitals in adopting best practices and strengthening their workforce strategies.
DUTIES:
Program Leadership & Strategy

Lead the statewide initiative aimed at advancing employee retention and wellbeing across member hospitals.

Design, refine, and reposition grant focus areas to ensure alignment with evolving needs, evidence-based practices, and association priorities.

Develop and manage the project’s scope of work, ensuring alignment with wellbeing principles, grant requirements, and stakeholder expectations.

Create & lead a strategy for defining engagement in Work.Harmony.You (Why) initiatives.

Secure and diversify funding for workforce initiatives by developing and submitting grant proposals to potential funders and/or collaborating with Solvent Networks to establish new revenue-producing workforce solutions.
Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships

Recruit hospitals for participation in grant activities and maintain strong relationships with participating organizations.

Facilitate collaboration among hospitals to identify, evaluate, and share best practices and emerging strategies.

Organize, convene, and support advisory committees, workgroups, and partner coalitions to ensure broad stakeholder input.
Project Operations & Management

Track, manage, and forecast grant revenue, expenditures, and budget performance.

Develop, procure, and oversee a cohort of contractors, consultants, and subject-matter experts to support grant goals.

Coordinate project timelines, deliverables, reporting requirements, and evaluation efforts.

Ensure adherence to all grant guidelines, deliverables, budget, and documentation/reporting requirements.
Communication & Capacity Building

Lead development, distribution, analysis, and communication of the Workforce Experience Survey results.

Prepare reports, briefing materials, presentations, and updates for executive leadership, funders, and participating hospitals.

Support learning sessions, training opportunities, and dissemination of tools and resources to help hospitals strengthen their retention and wellbeing strategies.

In collaboration with other teams, develop communication/marketing materials/plans to promote engagement in workforce initiatives.
