Youth Mental Health Resources

Approximately 70 percent of youth in SC with a major mental health depressive episode do not receive mental health services according to DHHS. Suicide is the second leading cause of death for SC youth between the ages of 10-14 and the third leading cause of death for those between 15-17.

To help families, educators, and community leaders connect young people with support, the South Carolina Hospital Association has compiled a collection of trusted youth mental health resources, including crisis services, educational materials, screening tools, and treatment options. These resources are designed to increase awareness, reduce stigma, and help ensure that young people receive the care they need when they need it most.
