Mother-Infant Wellness Program

The Mother‑Infant Wellness Program at Prisma Health expands access to specialized behavioral health services for pregnant and postpartum individuals across South Carolina. As the state’s first perinatal partial‑hospitalization program, it provides structured, evidence‑based care for those experiencing depression, anxiety, and related conditions during pregnancy or within the first year after delivery.

The program offers a five‑hour‑a‑day therapeutic model that typically spans two to three weeks. Participants receive coordinated support from a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatric care, group and individual therapy, and education focused on strengthening coping skills and overall well‑being. A key feature of the program is its design that allows mothers to remain with their infants throughout treatment, supporting healthy bonding while ensuring timely access to needed care.

By addressing perinatal mental health needs through an integrated, patient‑centered approach, the Mother‑Infant Wellness Program contributes to stronger families and healthier communities—advancing the shared goal of improving health outcomes across South Carolina.
