JOB TITLE:      Director, Member Engagement 

SUPERVISOR:      Vice President, Workforce & Member Engagement 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, education, marketing, communications, or healthcare 
  • Master’s degree in health administration or public health preferred  
  • 3-5 years of experience in member relations, strategic communications, relationship management, and event management 
  • Strong research, writing, communication, and organizational skills 
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively with others, within and across teams 
  • Must be able to synthesize complex information and create actionable workplans 

BASIC FUNCTION:

The director is responsible for the overall strategy and process for member engagement at SCHA. This includes coordinating with internal teams on market intelligence of key member leadership or constituency groups, developing onboarding processes for engaging new leaders, planning and coordinating strategic member events, and collaborating on appropriate communications strategies or channels to best engage members. This position will oversee and direct the strategy of the affiliated professional membership groups, councils, committees, and task forces.  

DUTIES:

  • Develops and manages the process of planning key member events (to include budgeting, outside speaker/presenter utilization and management, evaluation, staff needs, etc.) and creates an annual master calendar of member events 
  • Provides strategic leadership and content development of the organization’s member programming, both in-person and virtual events 
  • Develops processes and trains staff for effectively maintaining key member contacts, developing appropriate onboarding programs 
  • Effectively utilizes member engagement software 
  • Determines and reviews key metrics for assessing member engagement 
  • Identifies and connects member or healthcare industry issues into key member-related events and serves as issue manager 
  • Manages an internal team for the coordination and planning of member events 
  • Coordinates with the communications team to create communications campaigns or materials for key membership events, including maintaining SCHA web calendar, or other communications strategies critical to member engagement 
  • Serves as primary contact for hotels, event venues, or brokers in establishing initial relationships/contacts and negotiating rates 
  • Directs the overall strategy for affiliated professional membership groups, including growth, coordination, and alignment with SCHA’s priorities 
  • Develops and manages a process to ensure effective member engagement for all affiliated councils, committees, task forces, etc.  
  • Manages the relationship with AXIS Medical to ensure a consistent process to provide continuing education credits to members 
  • Other duties as assigned
