Resource Guide for Vaccination Clinics & Outreach
Hospitals around the state have now set up and run all different types of ad hoc clinics, often in collaboration with the National Guard and other community partners, to give vaccines to as many eligible individuals as supply will allow. Some of these events are large-scale drive-up events, while others are smaller events held in various locations both on hospital campuses and at satellite locations.
Each event poses some unique challenges, but a bevy of approaches and ideas about how to implement these vaccine sites have sprouted up across the state. SCHA continues to work with the National Guard to compile these here as a resource for both current and future vaccine sites that are looking to streamline their process. This guide will be updated on a revolving basis as information emerges and the situation continues to evolve.
Vaccine Event Planning
There are a variety of challenges to planning and preparing for a vaccination event, and our hospitals have learned much from the first few months of this process. We’ve created this resource with key takeaways and lessons learned about event planning and preparation, which we’ll be continuing to add to over time.
Sourcing & Staffing Team Members
Regardless of where the event is held, hospitals will need both clinical and non-clinical team members to staff the event. This page is designed to help you consider everything you’ll need from a staffing perspective, including key roles for team members and the most efficient processes for assembling the appropriate team. You’ll also find links to lists of individuals who are willing to help staff or volunteer at vaccination events in South Carolina.
Advancing Vaccine Equity
This page houses a variety of resources, including potential partners for addressing vaccine equity, a helpful mapping resource from the National Guard, and strategies for removing barriers and reducing vaccine hesitancy.
