March Proclaimed Patient Safety Month by Governor McMaster
March is Patient Safety Month, and SCHA likes to take this time celebrate all our member hospitals have accomplished in providing quality care to your patients in recent years. Despite the challenges of a global pandemic, which continues to put stress on staffing and equipment, South Carolina hospitals continue to rise to the challenge of putting patient safety first!
That’s why we are excited to announce that Governor McMaster, through a Proclamation, has declared March 2022 as “SC Zero Harm Patient Safety Month.” As stated in the Governor’s proclamation, “South Carolina hospitals have adopted new approaches towards improving quality of care and are now national models for how to become more highly reliable.” This well-earned recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication our members have invested to improve health outcomes and reduce events of harm in your facilities.SCHA joins Gov. McMaster in congratulating the state’s hospitals and health systems for leading the nation in statewide efforts to advance highly reliable care and for helping lead South Carolina to a better state of health. We look forward to celebrating SC Zero Harm Patient Safety Month with you!
