JOB TITLE: Executive Director, Marketing and Communications

SUPERVISOR: Vice President, Government Relations

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field with ten years of experience.  An effective leader will possess proven interpersonal, problem-solving, leadership, and management skills as well as advanced ideation, writing, editing, and communication management capability.

BASIC FUNCTION: This position is responsible for ongoing brand management, leading the development and implementation of a communications and marketing strategy for the enterprise.

 DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads the development and implementation of marketing and communications strategy for the SCHA enterprise, to include strategy for individual corporations
  • Represents SCHA in public, media opportunities and through coordination with other representatives of SCHA as appropriate
  • Oversees brand standards and core messages to ensure proper and consistent deployment of SCHA positions and brands
  • Coordinates, contracts for, manages, and/or writes, as needed, communications representing the enterprise and corporations, such as annual reports, best practices, brand marketing material, and media responses
  • Serves on the SCHA disaster response team, managing crisis communication
  • Ensures best of class media capability, including development and maintenance of the SCHA website and social media
  • Collaborates with staff, contractors, and others to execute strategies
  • With other SCHA executive leadership, ensures the ongoing effective structure of the communications team
  • Coordinates with other marketing and communication teams with SCHA partners
  • Other duties as assigned

SPAN OF SUPERVISION: Manager, Communications; Specialist, Web and Graphics

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: In-office work several days a week; moderate travel, primarily in-state
