SCHA Zero Harm Portal is Open Through August 17
South Carolina hospitals have come a long way over the last few decades when it comes to patient safety and quality of care, but we know it’s still the cornerstone of what our members pride themselves on.Zero Harm Awards Application portal is now open for submissions for the expanded slate of awards that, in different ways, recognize our member hospitals in their commitment to zero harm and their journey to more highly reliable care. The portal is accessible at scha.org/ZHportal. All member hospitals are eligible and encouraged to apply. Those awards as currently constructed include:
Our 2022- The Certified Zero Harm Awards, which recognizes member facilities for preventing hospital-acquired infections and injuries in common categories and procedures.
- The Drive to Zero Harm Leadership Award, which recognizes leaders who are creating and sustaining highly reliable organizations with a culture of safety.
- The Zero Harm Excellence Award, a metrics-based honor which recognizes facilities who have embraced a systems-level approach to excellence and zero harm.
- The Drive to Zero Suicide Award, which recognizes facilities who have adopted specific Zero Suicide strategies.
We know that our members’ time is valuable, so we’ve been working hard to make the application for the Zero Harm awards as painless as possible, including an easy save feature and an ability to build upon last year’s applications in some instances. For more information on the awards, including last year’s webinar explaining how to use the portal, a FAQ document, and additional resources, go to scha.org/zeroharm. You can also contact Nan Carter with any questions at ncarter@scha.org. The Zero Harm portal will close at 5 p.m. on August 17.
