Path to Provide
SCHA and the South Carolina Technical College System have partnered together on “Path to Provide,” a scholarship program to expand the healthcare workforce in South Carolina. The pilot program launched at the following technical colleges:
• Central Carolina Technical College
• Florence Darlington Technical College
• Midlands Technical College
• Northeastern Technical College
• Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College
• Piedmont Technical College
• Spartanburg Community College
• Technical College of the Lowcountry
• Trident Technical College
• York Technical College
The mission of Path to Provide is to empower individuals to enter stable health careers in service to their communities. Path to Provide will help finance scholarships and provide on-the-job training for students currently enrolled in a healthcare program at a participating technical college that commit to employment with a South Carolina hospital or health system upon graduation.
Participating healthcare facilities for this pilot year include Abbeville Area Medical Center, Allendale County Hospital, Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center, Chester Regional Medical Center, Springs Memorial Hospital, Self Regional Healthcare, McLeod Health Darlington, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Clarendon, Summerville Medical Center, Kershaw Health, Regional Medical Center, and Palmetto Health Tuomey.
