SUPERVISOR:  Executive Director, Data and Measurement, SCHA Data Center
QUALIFICATIONS:  Education: Bachelor’s degree required, and graduate education preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3-year experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Special Training: Broad knowledge and general experience in business intelligence tools like Tableau and Salesforce. Ability to create dashboards in Tableau and provide analysis of reports. Proficient in computer skills (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel) as well as Excel Pivot table skills. Knowledge of healthcare data. Strong analytic, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Must be familiar with data analysis and statistics. Experience in qualitative analysis is preferred. Must be able to communicate with others in a clearly and in a timely manner.

BASIC FUNCTION:  The Data Analyst, SCHA Data Center is a shared data position with the North Carolina Healthcare Association (NCHA) for state specific CaroNova initiatives primarily but not limited to Access Health and Healthy People, Healthy Carolinas. The position is grant funded and will be reviewed annually based on funding availability. The Analyst supports both state teams as the Salesforce administrator collecting, monitoring, and analyzing relevant data for project reporting to associations, members, partners, and funders, and providing support, while communicating and collaborating with a variety of groups and partners.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the development of standard deliverables, including evaluation plans, publishable report summaries, and presentations for multiple initiatives.
  • Builds, develops, and manages healthcare dashboards to effectively support members, staff, and partners with overall program evaluation efforts
  • Accumulates and consolidates multiple internal and external data sources into data work products that can be loaded for data formatting, preparation, and analysis.
  • Monitor quality and timelines of data form and roster submissions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate and work directly with SC and NC Healthcare Foundation technical assistance team, state teams, partner organizations and grantees.
  • Utilizes data validation and quality improvement techniques to monitor data quality and data completeness.
  • Provide analysis, trends, and reports from bi-annual data submission for network/coalition and funder reporting.
  • Administer and assist in annual focus groups/network director interviews and annual organization assessment.
  • Monitor key performance indicators.
  • Ensure the integrity of the methodology, process, and comparability of evaluation findings across states.
  • Central liaison working with all departments, staff, members, and partners to better understand initiatives related to scope of work and how data can assist in the decision-making process.
  • Works closely with The Data Center staff at SCHA and the state technical assistance teams to ensure completion of data requests.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
