Interested in a career as a medical technologist or clinical laboratory scientist? The South Carolina Hospital Association (SCHA) has a career program for college students or recent graduates with a bachelor’s of science degree in biology or chemistry. It’s called the Laboratory Science Fast Track Program. It provides free tuition and training at South Carolina hospitals to students interested in a career in laboratory sciences. Additional Educational Options
Don’t necessarily meet the requirements for the Fast Track program?
Then, maybe one of South Carolina’s hospital based programs is right
for you! A hospital-based program is a fully accredited training
program that usually runs 12 months in length, with all training
completed in the hospital setting. Training includes didactic lectures
and extensive practical experience under the direction of pathologists
and medical technologists. Enrollment in these programs is deliberately
kept small to allow for thorough personal instruction for each student.
Currently, there are three hospital-based programs in the state which
also train students to become Clinical Laboratory Scientists. Check out

and fees, course descriptions, etc. Lexington Medical Center School of Medical Technology Ann Beaman, Program Director 2720 Sunset Boulevard West Columbia, SC 29169 (803) 936-8126
