Help make health care a priority in South Carolina. Whether you consider yourself an Democrat, Independent or Republican, 2010 is an important year for all South Carolinians but especially to those of us in the health care industry. This year, South Carolinians will have the opportunity to make their voices heard in electing who will govern our state for the next four years, which will have an impact for hospitals and the health care community.

Those elected will make decisions critical to the future of health care. Medicaid funding, behavioral health and health care jobs are just a few issues that are most critical to the financial well-being of our hospitals.

Watch the SCHA sponsored gubernatorial debate from February 12, 2010. Each candidate had one minute to respond to the question with a limited amount of time to offer additional comments if they chose to challenge the answer provided by another candidate. Watch part of or the entire debate. Five of the candidates participated in the debate. The three candidates who did not attend the debate were given the opportunity to respond in writing to the same questions posed during the debate.

SCHA sponsored gubernatorial debate with five candidates.

SCHA reviewed the debate and written responses and then translated the answers to a scorecard. View scorecard on how the candidates stand on issues most important to our hospitals.
